Associate Director - Partnerships (Business Development)

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Partnerships will plan, develop, and manage the partnerships and programming for a portfolio of partners. The focus of this position is to manage initiatives and relationships with technology companies, institutions of higher education, community-based organizations, and research institutions. The substance of the partnerships may include industry projects, collaborative programming, talent acquisition and development (e.g. internships and co-ops), learning programs, and collaborative research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The ability to develop a strategy for each partner rooted in partner goals and aligned to the organization's mission. Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills with proven ability to strategize and prioritize to meet goals and deadlines. Solid technology knowledge and industry experience to facilitate technical discussions to define and collaborate on research and development projects including software development, applied artificial intelligence, machine learning engineering and data analysis. Strong project management skills and product development experience paired with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships with key contacts at partner organizations and manage up to senior leaders and across to colleagues. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely (e.g., a program overview document) and present to external audiences as an ambassador for the organization. Experience utilizing Salesforce (and LinkedIn Navigator desirable). Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree (or equivalent); Master's preferred. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, product development, product management, technical program management, relationship management, strategic planning, program operations, and/or special projects.

You will be required to travel, mostly regionally, to meet strategically important partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Identify and source new industry partnership and experiential learning opportunities and, in collaboration with the global and regional partnerships and college co-op teams, conduct effective marketing, engagement, and outreach to industry groups.
  • Develop, track, and manage relationships with industry partners, which includes implementing the process of developing, writing, reviewing, and obtaining approvals for new agreements.
  • Create industry project, internship, co-op and employment pipelines and opportunities between learners in the program and industry partners.
  • Facilitate, manage and execute industry projects and experiential learning activities with staff, student-led teams, faculty and industry partners.
  • Manage the ongoing administration of agreements including notification to partners of agreement expiration and maintenance of internal records using Salesforce.
  • With industry partners, execute regular on-site and co-curricular activities, ensuring learners and employers have networking opportunities, leading to stronger placement rates.
  • Track and report on industry partner placement rates and performance.

The expected hiring range for this position is $73,535 to $93,755 based on the position's scope, responsibilities, and location.
