Job Description:

Madison College is seeking a Manager of School Business Operations, to manage the overall business operations for our School of Academic Advancement. The School of Academic Advancement provides students access to a variety of programs across metro and regional campuses. The School serves a diverse student population in the following programs: English Language Learning, High School Completion/GED, Bridge, and Adult Basic Education.

The Manager is responsible for managing the overall business operations of the School, including budget management and oversight of staff, business operational systems/processes, testing administration, data analytics, and significant grant and contract funding. This position reports to the Dean and manages a team of administrative and student support staff.

This is a full-time, exempt, 52 weeks per year position, located at our Goodman South campus. This posting may be used to fill similar positions within a 12-month period.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Hire and manage staff and student workers in data analysis, testing administration, administrative specialists, and casual support employees. Prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained, and follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Lead internal operations for the School of Academic Advancement, which includes: projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, and codes; coordinating activities between multiple service areas and working to integrate and coordinate service areas.
  • Facilitate, manage, and monitor grant life cycle, including overseeing the delivery of grant activities and services; monitoring grant outcome performance and budget expenditures; ensuring accurate and timely submission of client data and reporting.
  • Serve as primary administrative budget manager, which includes: developing, modifying and administering complex district and grant budgets; analyzing, and preparing budget allocations and cost estimates for multiple funding sources; making adjustments due to continuous changes; reconciling financial information and ensuring accurate financial records; and assisting in budget projections.
  • Develop, manage, and document the workflow of policies, procedures, systems, and processes. Lead and implement project initiatives through analysis, recommending solutions; troubleshooting, and evaluating performance. Research, collect, and analyze a variety of complex data and information; ensure accuracy of information; and summarize findings in applicable reports.
  • Maintains a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of managerial principles, practices, and techniques; school and grant administration, compliance and reporting.
  • Knowledge of budget development and accounting principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret, apply and follow applicable laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and implement annual district and grant budgets.
  • Ability to research and analyze data from multiple systems to problem-solve, identify solutions, forecast consequences of proposed actions, and implement actions. Prepare reports.
  • Ability to lead, plan, coordinate and implement project components and activities. Skill in managing systems and processes that support programs and decision-making.
  • Skill in communicating effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge in the use of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and ability to learn new software, ex. PeopleSoft and Workday.
  • Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.


Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree required.

2. Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience.

Preferred:

Leadership and/or managerial experience
